My interpretation of Count Orlok from Nosferatu as an art doll/puppet. He stands around 25cm tall with polymer clay head, hands and shoes mounted on a wire armature to allow full posing. Each aspect of the doll was hand sculpted and painted, or patterned and sewn by me.

The basis for this puppet was my own sketches. With the clay elements I was very particular about translating the exaggerated style into 3d, I very much wanted the final piece to look like it stepped out the pages of my sketchbook

I wanted his proportions and clothing to be similarly exaggerated. Before committing to a size for the wire frame I make a digital mock-up to get a better idea of how the final puppet will look
